Round 253

Tap, tap, tap, tap!

The cheerful sound of the chopping board being struck.

Ara watched intently with wide eyes.

“Wow!”

The crops were being prepared much faster than when Kyu-seong did it, to an incomparable degree. She could feel the scent of a master from those hands.

“It’s incredible.”

“It’s coming along great.”

Ara moved even closer to appreciate Jae-seong’s cooking skills.

Then, Jae-seong, with a shy smile, asked Ara, “Do you want to try cooking later?”

“Oh! I should give it a try!”

Cheong, standing nearby, looked up at Jae-seong with eyes that seemed about to tear up again.

“Ch, Cheong, do you want to learn together?”

“Yes.”

Excited by the idea of cooking together with Cheong, Ara bounced around joyfully.

“Brother, where are all the sauces?”

“Sauces?”

“Like soy sauce and bean paste.”

“Ah! They’re in the fermentation storage.”

Then, Ara shouted excitedly with her hand raised, “I’ll get them!”

“Really? Can you bring them, Ara?”

“Yes!”

Then, forgetting all else, Ara, holding Cheong’s hand, ran towards the fermentation storage.

As they stepped outside the kitchen, it was snowing heavily. Ara flicked her tongue out briefly as the fluffy snow fell. A white snowflake landed on her tongue and melted. Ara made a cute face at the cool sensation and shivered.

Cheong, watching her, imitated her.

However, unlike Ara, the snow did not land on his tongue.

“It’s frustrating.”

He moved his body trying to catch the snow with his tongue, but failed.

“You do it like this. Like this.” Ara demonstrated again.

Soon, she was catching snow with her tongue deftly.

Cheong watched closely and tried again.

Swoosh.

Finally, he managed to place snow on his tongue.

Then, Cheong jumped around excitedly. “I did it! I did it too!”

“Wow. That’s my brother for you. Well done!”

The happy children soon realized they had forgotten something.

“Soy sauce, bean paste, chili paste!” Ara exclaimed, grabbing Cheong’s hand again.

Then, feeling a crunchy sensation underfoot, she looked at the ground. Their footsteps had left clear marks on the white path.

Cheong also stepped on the snow in place, amazed.

“Sister, it’s my foot.”

“The snow leaves footprints.”

“It’s amazing.”

“If you do this, it can also be shaped.”

Ara scooped up some snow and shaped it with her hands. It formed into a round snowball.

“I know how to do it too! I tried it earlier!”

Cheong also shaped the snow, and soon they combined two small snowballs to make a tiny snowman.

“We’ll fill the whole village with snowmen!”

“Wow! That’s exciting!”

Soon, they were busily making small snowballs and filling the area with snowmen.

After spending a while filling the street with snowmen, the children took so long to return that Kyu-seong, who came out worried, spotted them.

“Huh?”

“Oh! Look, Kyu-seong! See how many snowmen there are!”

Ara proudly showed off the landscape covered with snowmen, smiling brightly, while Cheong eagerly awaited Kyu-seong’s reaction with sparkling eyes.

“Wow! Did you make all these already?”

“Hmm! Cheong helped me!”

Ara proudly puffed out her chest as she spoke, and Cheong sneakily did the same.

“One, two, three, four…you really made a lot. Are you planning to fill the village?”

“That’s my goal! To fill the entire village with snowmen!”

Ara declared her ambition confidently. Kyu-seong, reminded of a past when Ara had cried over melting snowmen, cautiously asked, “But won’t the snowmen melt?”

“It’s okay! Snowman is safely sitting on top of the hat storage!”

Ara seemed to imply that as long as Snowman didn’t melt, nothing else mattered.

Charmed by cute Ara’s response, Kyu-seong couldn’t help but laugh.

Watching him, Ara raised her pride once again but suddenly gasped, “Soy sauce, bean paste, chili paste!”

“Ah! I forgot!”

The duo, usually so confident, quickly became cautious of Kyu-seong’s mood. Their adorable manner made Kyu-seong burst into laughter again.

“Shall we go together?”

“Yes!”

Ara and Cheong, one on each side, held hands with him.

As they walked, they saw Kkumuris quietly making snowmen nearby.

“What are you doing, you guys…”

It seemed they were imitating Ara.

Thanks to them, the surroundings were quickly covered in snowmen by the time Kyu-seong and the children came out with the sauces; it was a veritable landscape of snow sculptures.

“Wow.”

Initially, those who were only making snowmen were now crafting all sorts of things.

Some were making giant snow sculptures that looked like dragons, but soon Kyu-seong realized from Ara’s shout that it wasn’t a dragon.

“That’s it! Wow! It’s amazing!”

“It’s really amazing!”

Not to mention a mini World Tree, many slimes highlighting features of Ara and Cheong, and more. Later, as they started making people’s statues, Kyu-seong, observing the quite professional work, hardly dared to speak.

“That’s the Grand Lords.”

On one side, Kyu-seong’s parents were seated side by side.

Several creatures were meticulously sculpting Kyu-seong’s parents.

Peeking from the side, the sculptures quickly took shape and were nearly complete as Kyu-seong and the children approached. The parents smiled at them.

-Hehe.

Watching them, a creature gave a thumbs up, indicating approval.

“Dad, Mom, Jae-seong is preparing lunch, so come over once the sculptures are done. The cooking might take a while, so it’s okay to finish the sculptures first.”

“Okay, got it.”

After nodding, Kyu-seong moved quickly.

Quite some time had passed since he had agreed to bring the sauces.

Upon arriving in the kitchen, Jae-seong was finishing up most of the dishes. Despite the large amount, the food was prepared much faster and more neatly than Kyu-seong could have managed.

Seeing this, Kyu-seong once again felt the difference between a professional and an amateur.

“I brought them.”

“Brought them!”

“Thanks, bro. Thanks, kids.”

Fortunately, adding the seasonings at the very end of the cooking process posed no problem, and soon all the dishes were complete.

The dishes included fish stew with well-cooked carrots, bean and vegetable fish cakes made with crispy dough, seafood stew with various ingredients, and raw seafood.

“Wow, the plating is spectacular!”

“The taste will be spectacular too.” Jae-seong said with a smile.

Orie, who had helped Jae-seong, grinned refreshingly and gestured for them to try eating.

Munch, munch.

And suddenly, Junichi, who had picked something up, was chewing carefully as if trying not to eat.

“Mmm! What’s this smell? It smells delicious!” Just then, the parents came in and began preparing the meal.

Seon-ah went outside to gather the children, and Ara and Cheong busily moved the dishes.

“Ah, now that Jae-seong is here, we finally get to eat sashimi.”

“Father, we made and ate it too.”

“But the touch of a professional is different, isn’t it?”

Thinking that was true, Kyu-seong picked up a piece of sashimi and lightly dipped it in soy sauce. Then he took a bite!

“Mmmph.”

Unintentionally making a strange noise, Kyu-seong covered his mouth.

However, the melting sashimi and the flavor of the soy sauce made it impossible to hold back any sounds.

“Ara, Cheong, try this.”

He scooped up several large pieces of soy sauce-coated sashimi for the children.

Then, with their mouths full, they chewed vigorously.

“Mmm!”

“It tastes amazing!”

Soon, Kyu-seong made a sauce using miso, soy sauce, garlic, and chili peppers.

Seeing this, his father and Junichi’s faces lit up with anticipation.

“Ah, this calls for some alcohol!”

Predictably, Junichi produced some alcohol from his possession. This time, it was a different type of alcohol from before.

“This is an unfinished alcohol. It’s soju made with Kyu-seong’s sesame.”

“Soju made with sesame?”

“Yes. The original goal was to make whiskey, but we are still facing challenges with the proper fermentation stage. So, for now, we’ve completed a simple fermentation and atmospheric distillation soju.”

Not quite understanding, but hearing the word ‘soju’, Kyu-seong nodded.

As someone who wasn’t particularly fond of alcohol, it was merely a curiosity to him.

But apparently not to his father. Kyu-seong’s father, Hyun-woo, couldn’t take his eyes off the bottle in Junichi’s hand.

Finally, unable to watch anymore, Mrs. Kim Hyun-mi spoke up.

“Drink moderately.”

“Mmm!”

Hyun-woo nodded vigorously.

Then, somehow knowing what to do, Ara brought him a glass.

“Drink moderately. The great lord.”

“Yes, I should drink moderately for our Ara’s sake.”

Hyun-woo was completely smitten by Ara’s charm.

When everyone ended up laughing, Seon-ah finally arrived, leading the slimes and all the children.

“Wow, looking at this, there are a lot of us.”

“Think we’ll run out? We should make more.”

“Yeah.”

This time, Kyu-seong also helped with the cooking to keep the food coming without interruption.

Meanwhile, Ara, Cheong, and Soo took turns feeding the food to Kyu-seong, Jae-seong, and Orie.

Only after everyone had enough food were they able to take a break and enjoy lunch.

“Ha ha ha ha!”

“Ha ha ha ha ha!”

Soon, Junichi and Hyun-woo, who had grown close, put on a show while eating sashimi and seafood stew as snacks.

“With a wonderful alcohol and snacks in this snowy scenery, this place is truly a paradise!”

“Paradise! What a wonderful word! Ha ha!”

Watching the adults’ drinking session, Cheong, tilting his head, asked Kyu-seong.

“Grandpa seems happy.”

“Mmm, that’s a drink only adults can have, but when Cheong grows up, let’s drink it together.”

“Wow! I’m looking forward to it!”

As they were busily eating, an unexpected visitor arrived in the village.

-Lord! It’s snowing!

-Lord! The construction is being delayed due to the snow…

-I have arrived!

Suddenly, Frey, Mammon, and Ras burst in.

The children, pointing excitedly at the heavily snowing sky, soon noticed the delicious smell, their ears and noses twitching.

-A new face?

-Jae-seong has arrived! But who are the others?

Kyu-seong was taken aback by the unexpected visit from the Sins.

Ara and Cheong waved happily at the three newcomers.

“Have you arrived?”

-Hello, Lord? Who are these people next to you?

“We have guests!”

-Gasp! There are guests here!

-Guests?!

-I am Ras. Reveal your names.

Watching the children’s conversation, Junichi and Orie’s eyes widened.

A cute kid next to another cute kid? What is this, heaven?

“Who are these kids?”

“Uh, uh, they are my familiars.”

The Seven Deadly Sins. That was the moment they became known to outsiders.
